![]() Here at Pensacola Cell Phone Repair, we often get calls from customers asking us whether or not their phone battery is bad. Bad phone batteries are common in the Samsung Galaxy, Samsung Note and other phone models that have removable batteries. There's a few ways to tell if you need a new battery for your Samsung phone, but there's a quick trick you can use that will tell you whether or not your battery is a lost cause. Spin Test Take your battery out of your device and lay it on a flat surface such as a table. Flick one of the corners of the battery very lightly. If you see that it spins like a top, this means you have a bad phone battery. Why is this? If your phone battery spins when you flick the corner, your battery has swollen and has a bulge, which may or may not be visible to the naked eye. Phone batteries can swell from overheating, which can happen many ways such as playing graphic-intensive games for a long period of time with high screen brightness. Faulty phone chargers or USB cables can also cause your phone's battery to swell - or even simply leaving your phone in your car on a hot day for a few hours. You may be able to feel the difference if you have a new phone battery to compare it to. A good battery will be completely flat - it won't have any bulges or be warped in any way. If you're still unsure whether or not your phone battery is dead, contact your local phone repair shop in Pensacola.
